Celeste Guzmán Mendoza is a published poet, essayist, and playwright. She holds a doctoral degree in Education Leadership and Policy, and an MFA in Poetry. She was a co-founder of CantoMundo, a workshop for Latina/o poets, a fellow of Hedgebrook, a retreat for women writers, and Macondo, a community of writers who advance social justice. In addition to being a writer, Mendoza is a professional fundraiser with more than 20 years of experience. She currently works at the University of Texas at Austin to connect with alumni and friends throughout Latin America on behalf of the University. She is available for public readings and lectures.
